Manual Backstage checks vs Scout Tools: where the time goes

Checking whether your agency can invite a creator is the slow, repetitive part of recruiting. Here is what a manual check involves, what a batch in Scout Tools looks like, and how to work out the time you would get back with your own numbers.

What a manual check involves

In Backstage you look up one creator, read the answer, and write it down somewhere so you do not forget it. Then you do the same for the next creator. That is fine for a handful of names, and it is slow for a list.

What a batch in Scout Tools looks like

You select up to 30 creators on the board and press Check eligibility. The check runs inside your own Backstage session and takes about 30 seconds for the batch. Each creator gets a result with its reason, saved on the board with the time it was checked.

Work out your own time saved

Time one manual check on your team, then multiply by 30 to get the cost of a batch. As an example, if a manual check takes you two minutes, 30 creators take an hour by hand, and 300 creators take ten hours. In Scout Tools the same 300 creators are ten batches of about 30 seconds each in the check itself.

Use your own number: the gap between the two is the time you get back. Selecting creators and reading results take time either way, so this is the check itself, not the whole workflow.

What you stop losing

The time is only part of it. When results live in someone's head or a spreadsheet, creators get checked twice and old answers get trusted. Scout Tools saves each result with its time, lets you mark who you contacted and exports the list for the team.

Where manual checking is still fine

If you look at a few creators a week, checking by hand in Backstage is perfectly reasonable, and it is the same Backstage Scout Tools reads from. The tool earns its place when the list gets long or more than one person recruits.

Questions

Is a Scout Tools check as reliable as checking by hand?

It runs in your own Backstage session and reads what Backstage shows, so a result is the one your agency would get. It reflects the moment of the check, like a manual check does.

Do I lose anything by using it?

No. A check never sends an invite, so your invitations left do not go down, and you can still use Backstage by hand whenever you like.
